- AO, BC & Drivers
This is where you track and manage all your hours of service. All users access Timecards from the App Menu > Timecards. Drivers only get the option to clock their hours and see their data. AOs and BCs can see timecard data for all their drivers.
Settings
An AO or BC should first configure the Timecard settings in the app's settings menu to manage their drivers hours of service correctly. You can access these under Settings > Timecards

Timecard Settings
Pay Period Length | This is the length of your pay period. Typically this is 1 week or 2 weeks. You should set this to match your payroll schedule. Once selected, you will also be asked to choose the First Day of Period so PackageRoute can correctly track hours of service based on your payroll schedule. |
Manual Period | This implies that the length of your pay period is set manually by you. With this option, you choose when to start a new pay period. After each pay day, you can start a new manual pay period. |
Hide Manifest until clock in | If enabled, this setting will prevent your drivers from being able to see and use their route data until they Clock In using PackageRoute. Use this option with some of your reluctant drivers who may not want to comply with your time tracking operations. |
Allow drivers to request days off | When enabled, this setting gives your drivers an option to Request Day Off in their Timecard actions. They can use this to submit a request for a day off in the future. The request is instantly seen by the AO and BC who may then approve or reject this request. The completed status of the request is seen by AO, BC and driver. Leave this setting disabled if you do not want your drivers to have this capability. |
Notify me on clock ins | If enabled, you will receive a notification on your phone when any driver in your operation Clocks In using PackageRoute. Be aware that if you have a large workforce, enabling this setting may trigger a more notifications. Irrespective of this setting, the AO and BCs can always see every driver's timecard in their summary view. |
Notify me on clock outs | If enabled, you will receive a notification on your phone when any driver in your operation Clocks Out using PackageRoute. |
Use hours/minutes instead of fractional hours in CSV reports | If enabled, CSV reports will use hours/minutes to display driver time, rather than representing time as fractions of an hour. |
Open my timecard with sections collapsed | When this is selected, all dropdown menus and information will be closed automatically when the Timecard tab is opened from the main menu. |
Collect location on timecard events | If enabled, PackageRoute will geo-tag the location for every driver when they Clock In, Clock Out and Start, End Breaks. The AO and BCs can track the exact location of that driver at the time of that event. So, for example, you can track if the driver clocked in at home or at the terminal. The driver must enable location services for PackageRoute on their phone. |
Require location sharing | If enabled, you are forcing your drivers to allow you to track their locations for timecard events. |
Only require for drivers | If enabled, the location sharing will not be applied to AOs and BCs. It will be restricted only to drivers. |
Driver Summary view
Drivers can Clock In, Set and End Breaks and Clock Out. For every event within a pay period, the App automatically tracks their total service hours. The driver can see a breakdown of all his / her hours.
Driver Timecard events and data are organized in the following sections. Each section can be expanded or collapsed by tapping the triangle on the top right above each section.
Actions | These are all the actions available for the driver to track his / her service hours. To Clock In, the driver simply taps the Clock In icon button |
Pay Period | This section lists each day in the current pay period. Total hours worked are shown for each day in this pay period. If there is no value for a day, then either the driver forgot to clock his / her hours or did not work that day. |
Today | This section shows a running breakdown of the hours worked by the driver today. All Clock In, Break and Clock Out events are shown visually as a Gantt chart. |
AO / BC Summary view
An AO or BC has a few more options since then get to view and manage timecard data for all their drivers. You can tap on the triangle on the top right of any section to expand or collapse that section. As each section grows with more data, you can simply scroll. To further view Timecard data and edit Timecards for a specific driver, tap 'details'.
AOs and BCs manage timecards using the following sections

My Actions | These are all the actions available to the AO or BC. A BC may need to track his / her hours in addition to managing the hours of his drivers. If so, they can Clock In. |
Day Off Requests | If you allow your drivers (through your Timecard settings) to request a day off in advance, you will see the driver day off requests in this section. You can then tap each one and approve or reject. |
My Schedule | Scheduled work days will appear in order. |
Scheduled Today | Drivers and their respective routes are displayed here. Scheduled hours for the day for each driver are shown on the right. |
