The PackageRoute Scheduler provides a wizard to assist you with creating your shift schedule. You will see the Schedule Wizard when you load the schedule for the first time. You can access the wizard anytime by clicking the Create New Schedule button or from Options > Schedule Wizard
Steps to Create a Schedule using the Schedule Wizard
- Select your weekly start date for your schedule. This would be the start of an upcoming week for which you are creating a schedule and should typically be the same as your timecard pay period start date.
- Choose the method you wish to create your starting schedule. You have three options:
- Blank Schedule This will give you an empty blank schedule. We do not recommend using this option initially until you get familiar with using the scheduler. This will be your only option if you do not currently use Timecards within PackageRoute.
- Copy Schedule This option allows you to copy a previously created schedule as a starting point. Typically you may use this option if your schedule does not change very much from one week to the next. You must have created at least one schedule previously.
- Generate Schedule We recommend using this option to create your first schedule. PackageRoute will use manifest data from your routes (and timecard data if available) to generate s shift schedule. Detailed steps to generate a schedule can be reviewed in this article.
- Follow the prompts and click Generate
Once created, you can review and rework your schedule, moving, adding and changing shifts to customize it to suit your operation. Once satisfied, click Publish to make these shifts visible to all your employees
